I am a Midwestern Transplant - born and raised in Edwardsville, Illinois and moved to Texas when I was a teenager. I am currently working on my B.A. in English Literature from Texas Woman's University, with a minor in Multicultural Women's and Gender Studies. I started my undergraduate journey at the height of the COVID-19 pandemic, which has not been without its challenges. But with nowhere else to go, I buried myself in my work and in my education.
English as my choice in major did not come as a surprise to anyone that knows me. I am an avid reader with the dream to become a great storyteller. I am fascinated by the hidden meanings within stories or the ones that blatantly try to explain what the meaning of life is. Regardless of what I'm reading, you can bet that I am learning something.
My minor has had a major impact on me, pun intended. I have always been interested in feminism and women's issues, but my studies have encouraged growth and unlearning that I think everyone should experience. I am a fierce advocate for women's issues: violence against women, reproductive justice, racial justice, and economic justice. The Multicultural Women's and Gender Studies program at TWU are not just about promoting education, but deep reflection, unlearning, and application to real life situations.
My career aspirations are to work with an organization who challenges me, and whose values mimic my own. It is important to me that whatever organization I work for promotes growth and diversity. I want to see women in leadership and be apart of an inclusive environment where I am more than just a cog in the machine. I hope that you enjoy learning more about me through my website, and I am looking forward to connecting with you!
